The Ysleta Indians had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Anthony 50-36 on Thursday. The victory was just what Ysleta needed coming off of a 67-18 loss in their prior contest.
When it comes to explaining why Anthony lost, one person who can't be blamed is Julie Cuellar. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points. The contest was Cuellar's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Aissa Castillo was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Ysleta's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Anthony, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.
Ysleta will finish 2023 at home by hosting Fabens at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Anthony is on the road again on Friday and play against Jefferson at 10:30 a.m. on December 29th. Jefferson has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17.
