The Westlake Demons will challenge the Avon Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Thursday, Westlake got the win against Lakewood by a conclusive 22-4. Considering the Demons have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Westlake got a massive performance out of Marissa Horvath, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, eight RBI, and three runs. Those eight RBI gave Horvath a new career-high. Riley Knapp was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
Westlake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .622. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Avon). They came out on top against Avon Lake by a score of 12-7 on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Jordyn Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Jocelin Ochs was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Katie Heilmann, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Westlake's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Avon, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.
Avon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Westlake has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .520. It's a different story for Avon, though, as they've only averaged .328. Will they be able to contain Westlake's hitters?
Westlake might still be hurting after the 15-4 loss they got from Avon when the teams last played back in April of 2019. Will the Demons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
