Lower Brule scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves by a score of 58-55. The Sioux were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Lower Brule's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Lower Brule and Lyman will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Lower Brule has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Todd County at 3:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
