Enterprise hasn't had much luck against Pleasant Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Enterprise has given up an average of 36.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Enterprise is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 34 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Red Bluff on Friday. They lost 35-12 to the Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 571st, while the Spartans are ranked 230th).
Although Enterprise took the loss, they still got scores from Trason Fuller and Izaiah Mikell.
Even if they lost, Enterprise's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 3.5 sacks. Ethan Michael refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Valley waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 38-28.
Enterprise better keep an eye on Titus Andrus. He was instrumental in Pleasant Valley's win, rushing for 269 yards and three TDs while picking up 16.8 yards per carry. Andrus' longest rush was for an incredible 90 yards. Another player making a difference was Brayden Wynkoop, who rushed for 30 yards and one score.
Pleasant Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 322 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Pleasant Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ashton Benson and Trevor Chesonis. James Stapp was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making 15 total tackles, and defending one pass.
Enterprise's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Pleasant Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Enterprise has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 227.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pleasant Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 221.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Enterprise was taken down by Pleasant Valley 47-0 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Will the Hornets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
