Basketball Recap: Bowie Skates Past Santa Teresa with Ease

Bowie won the last time they faced Santa Teresa and things went their way on Friday too. The Bowie Bears blew past the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors 77-41. That looming 77-41 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bears yet this season.

Bowie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Johan Camacho, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 boards. The contest was Camacho's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joe Rodriguez, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 14 points in addition to eight steals and five assists.

Bowie smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Santa Teresa still got an impressive performance from Josiah Rodriguez, who posted ten points and eight rebounds.

Bowie's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Santa Teresa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Bowie wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-60 victory against Del Valle on the 28th. As for Santa Teresa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-26 defeat against Socorro on the 28th.
