The Brookside Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Clearview Clippers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brookside is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 35-7, which was the final score in Brookside's tilt against Columbia on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Brookside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 589th, while Columbia is ranked 279th).
Meanwhile, Clearview beat Black River 26-19 on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clearview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Lorenzana, who rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown. Cy Christensen was another key contributor, throwing for 209 yards and two touchdowns.
Clearview's win bumped their season record to 7-2 while Brookside's loss dropped theirs to 3-6.
Brookside ended up a good deal behind Clearview when the teams last played back in September of 2022, losing 32-14. Can Brookside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
