Basketball Recap: Joel Gardner's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Skyridge over Glendora

After a string of three wins, Skyridge's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Glendora Tartans.

Skyridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joel Gardner, who posted 19 points. Gardner continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Hunter Sheffield, who had 15 points.

Skyridge's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Glendora, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Skyridge will head out on the road to face off against Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Skyridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season. As for Glendora, they will host Diamond Bar at 6:30 p.m. on January 7th. One thing working in Glendora's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 17 contests.
