Jamouri Nichols Delivers Electric Performance Vs West Mecklenburg
Starting off the list is West Charlotte's Jamouri Nichols, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Nichols rushed for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 80 yards and two TDs on perfect 6-for-6 passing. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 65 yards.
West Mecklenburg had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Nichols it was a similar story. Nichols rushed for 60 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 192 yards and one touchdown on only 17 passes the last time he and the Hawks duked it out back in September of 2024.

Hill Made His Presence Known in Independence's 27-20 Win
Travis Hill was instrumental in extending Independence's winning streak to three on Friday. Palisades had no answer to Hill as he rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Hill's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 101 rushing yards.
Independence's win bumped their record up to 4-1. Hill and the Patriots will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against West Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.

Jayden Jones put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in November of 2024 on Friday. He rushed for 141 yards and one touchdown.
