Basketball Game Preview: Temecula Prep Patriots vs. San Jacinto Leadership Academy Lions

The Temecula Prep Patriots will take on the San Jacinto Leadership Academy Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Temecula Prep is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Last Friday, Temecula Prep made easy work of San Jacinto Valley Academy and carried off a 48-22 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 23 points or more this season.

Temecula Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reese Miller led the charge by going 8 for 20 en route to 20 points along with five boards and three steals. What's more, Miller also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Samiyah Antoine was another key player, putting up six points in addition to 14 rebounds and four steals.

Temecula Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 37 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, San Jacinto Leadership Academy's good fortune finally ran out last Wednesday. They lost 43-23 to Desert Christian Academy.

Temecula Prep is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.6 points per game. As for San Jacinto Leadership Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
