Football Recap: Everett Gets the Win

If Moshannon Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Everett, they should've done a better job of containing Jakobe Harman. The Warriors managed a 26-20 victory over the Black Knights/Damsels on Friday thanks in part to Harman, who rushed for 280 yards and four TDs while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 176 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Moshannon Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Mason Abernethy, who picked up 112 receiving yards and a pair of scores. He was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 54 yards. Another player making a difference was Brady Mihalko, who threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns.

Everett's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Moshannon Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everett and Moshannon Valley will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Warriors are set to square off against their familiar foe Berlin Brothersvalley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Moshannon Valley will face off against rival Southern Huntingdon County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
