The Childress Bobcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Dalhart Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Childress' win against Canadian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Childress had just enough and edged out Canadian 3-1. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Ansley Parr made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dalhart, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over Tulia on Monday. The Wolves not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 22nd.
Like Childress, Dalhart also got a great game from a two-way player: Sydni Hyer. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Hyer was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Dalhart let Ashlyn Townsend and Lylianah Flores run wild. Townsend scored four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Flores scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Flores has posted since back in February. Audra Jobe was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Dalhart always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Childress' record now sits at 11-9-1. As for Dalhart, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-8-1.
Childress took their victory against Dalhart when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Childress since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
