Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Marlin Bulldogs walked away with it. They breezed by Kerens on the road to the tune of 36-7. The win was familiar territory for Marlin who now have nine in a row.
Marlin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mario Hopwood out in front who rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns. I'aire Kee also helped out as he racked up 119 rushing yards.
Marlin has yet to lose a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.8 points per game. As for Kerens, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Marlin will take on Coleman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coleman is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Kerens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
