Baseball Recap: Thomas Dale Has No Trouble Against L.C. Bird

Thomas Dale never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the L.C. Bird Skyhawks 10-0. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Skyhawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Peyton Puryear and Harrison Sheetz dominated on the mound. Puryear tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits, while Sheetz tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Thomas Dale is 3-1 when Puryear allows one or fewer earned runs, but 3-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Christian Weston was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Austin Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Thomas Dale's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for L.C. Bird, their loss was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-15.

Looking ahead, Thomas Dale will take on Meadowbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for L.C. Bird, they will venture away from home to face off against Powhatan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
