The Gardner Wildcats put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Narragansett Regional as Gardner made off with a 52-31 win. Fans of Gardner have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Alexavier Figueroa was a one-man wrecking crew for Gardner as he rushed for 98 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 171 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.3% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Ayden Sparrow, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown.
Gardner's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0. As for Narragansett Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gardner will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Quabbin Regional at 6:00 p.m. on November 22nd. Narragansett Regional will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Murdock at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd.
