The Paxton Tigers will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Sutherland Sailors at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Paxton struggled with assists on Tuesday (Hershey had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Paxton lost to Hershey on the road by a decisive 63-48 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Paxton in their matchups with Hershey: they've now lost eight in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jacelyn Jorgensen, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. She hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Ella Fote was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Sutherland came up short against Maxwell on Tuesday and fell 49-41. Sutherland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Paxton's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Sutherland, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.
Paxton was able to grind out a solid victory over Sutherland in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 44-34. Does Paxton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sutherland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
