The Giles County Bobcats are taking a road trip to square off against the West Limestone Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Giles County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Giles County took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Cornersville with a sharp 13-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Caydee Pipkins made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eniya Garrett, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Paisleigh Pigg, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Giles County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cornersville struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, West Limestone is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Greenwood. The Wildcats walked away with a 4-1 win over the Gators.
Katie Lyn Kyle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 17 Ks.
At the plate, Aubrey Bethune was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Giles County's record is now 8-5. As for West Limestone, their record now sits at 16-0.
Giles County couldn't quite get it done against West Limestone when the teams last played on Monday as they fell 6-1. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
