Fairview is 9-1 against Erie First Christian Academy since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fairview Tigers will head out on the road to take on Erie First Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Fairview came up short against Girard and fell 49-36. While losing is never fun, Fairview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while Girard is ranked 65th).
Meanwhile, Erie First Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They lost to Seneca on the road by a decisive 65-48 margin. Erie First Christian Academy has not had much luck with Seneca recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Erie First Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Avery Collins scored 29 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 60.4% of Erie First Christian Academy's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeovaun Taylor, who scored nine points.
This is the second loss in a row for Fairview and nudges their season record down to 3-9. As for Erie First Christian Academy, they bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Fairview beat Erie First Christian Academy 52-44 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Fairview repeat their success, or does Erie First Christian Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
