The Bullock County Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Montgomery Catholic 69-38. Bullock County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-13.
Montgomery Catholic was led to victory by Hannah Smith and Heaven Bailey. Smith scored 18 points along with eight rebounds, while Bailey dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 steals. Bailey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joanna Marlow, who scored ten points along with two steals and two blocks.
Bullock County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Montgomery Catholic, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-10.
Bullock County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Montgomery Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Brewbaker Tech at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Brewbaker Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Thursday.
