Perrysburg is 9-1 against Springfield since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Yellow Jackets will face off against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Perrysburg is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
Perrysburg came out on top against Defiance on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Yellow Jackets never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Considering the Yellow Jackets have won ten matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Tyler Palmer made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Ben Miller was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was JD Zeeb, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Springfield hadn't done well against Wauseon recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Indians.
Like Perrysburg, Springfield also got a great game from a two-way player: Max Sherrick. He didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. Sherrick also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Springfield is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-14 otherwise. Sherrick was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
Springfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Perrysburg's record is now 15-6. As for Springfield, their record now sits at 8-15.
Everything went Perrysburg's way against Springfield in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Perrysburg made off with a 16-0 win. Will the Yellow Jackets repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
