East Providence hasn't had much luck against La Salle Academy recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Townies will welcome the Rams at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, East Providence made easy work of Moses Brown and carried off an 11-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Townies.
Cassie Dulude spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, East Providence let Sylvie Patterson and Ella Grimley run wild. Patterson went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Grimley went 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. Those two runs gave Patterson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Pimentel, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, La Salle Academy strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Cheshire get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory.
Not much got past Hailey Vigneau, who gave up just a hit to keep Cheshire off the board.
On the hitting side, Phoenyx Silva was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Nikki Pallotta, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
La Salle Academy pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 8.1 runs thus far. As for East Providence, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. East Providence hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like La Salle Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
East Providence suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to La Salle Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Townies have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
