It was another big night for Brody Cole, who threw for 249 yards and three TDs while completing 94.1% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Asaiah Gibbons also deserves some recognition as he passed for his first passing touchdown of the season.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Cruise Cole, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Woodcreek took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 45-14 victory over Vista del Lago. Given the Timberwolves' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Eagles are ranked 327th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Inderkum better keep an eye on Josiah Melendez. He was instrumental in Woodcreek's win, rushing for 108 yards and one score on only six carries, while also throwing for 208 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 passes. That's the most rushing yards Melendez has posted since back in August of 2024. Woodcreek's leading receiver Ethan Keim was Melendez's top target yet again, picking up 139 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Woodcreek was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 206 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vista del Lago only rushed for 62.
Inderkum's record now sits at 6-1. As for Woodcreek, their record is now 7-0.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Cole and Melendez. Cole just won't slow down this season and has thrown 18 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 203.3 passing yards per game. Melendez has been a dominant force too and has thrown 9 touchdowns while averaging 166 passing yards per game.
We should be in store for an exciting game as Inderkum and Woodcreek have no problem gaining yardage. The Tigers have been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 358.7 total yards per game. However, it's not like Woodcreek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 358.9 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
