The Spruce Creek Hawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Eau Gallie Commodores at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Eau Gallie will be up against a hot Spruce Creek team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over Deltona on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Aubrey Yeary spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Spruce Creek got a massive performance out of Mackenzie Colby, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Colby has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Keylee Gerhardt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Spruce Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Deltona only managed seven hits.
Meanwhile, Eau Gallie had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the Hawks.
Jordan Stout made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Stout was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Evie Martin was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Ainsley O'Dell was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one double.
Spruce Creek pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Eau Gallie, their record is now 17-6.
Eau Gallie's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Spruce Creek has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Eau Gallie, though, as they've been averaging only 3.1 strikeouts. Will Spruce Creek keep running through batters, or will the Commodores buck the trend?
Spruce Creek couldn't quite finish off Eau Gallie in their previous matchup back in March and fell 10-8. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
