The Antonian Prep Apaches will face off against the Trinity Christian Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Antonian Prep barely beat Central Catholic the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Apaches breezed past the Buttons to the tune of 53-21 on Friday. The Apaches might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 23 points or more this season.

Topper Sterling had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 315 yards and five scores while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. He has become a key player for Antonian Prep: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. The Apaches also got a significant boost from Rogan Parson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 111 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Antonian Prep was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 428 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
Antonian Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jerimiah Miller, Kane Stover, and Matthew Trigo picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Central Catholic's side was Gerard Morales, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Nolan Catholic 51-10. The Trojans pushed the score to 51-3 by the end of the third, a deficit the Vikings cut but never quite recovered from.
Trinity Christian's win came from a few key players Antonian Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Davis Crumrine, who threw for 242 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes. Those 242 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Campbell Laible was another key player, gaining 144 total yards and two touchdowns.
Trinity Christian's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Antonian Prep, their record is now 6-4.
Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Antonian Prep has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 242 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Trinity Christian, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 92.8 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Everything came up roses for Antonian Prep against Trinity Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, as the squad secured a 55-28 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Trojans' Aidan Mills, who rushed for 100 yards and one TD on only 14 carries, and also threw for 108 yards and three touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Apaches to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
