Not much got past Ryanne Dubay1, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Greenfield off the board. Dubay1 has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Caelyn Thayor was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Lucy Trombley also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Pittsfield suffered their biggest loss since April 4, 2024 on Monday. They came up short against Westfield, falling 13-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Generals in their meetings with the Bombers: they've now lost eight in a row.
Ava McMahon spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and ten unearned) runs on 11 hits.
At the plate, Pittsfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Dejesus, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Hampshire Regional pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Pittsfield, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Pittsfield's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hampshire Regional hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. It's a different story for Pittsfield, though, as they've only averaged .235. Will they be able to contain Hampshire Regional's hitters?
Hampshire Regional couldn't quite get it done against Pittsfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
