Tahoka and Seagraves are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Tahoka Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Seagraves Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Tahoka fought the good fight in their overtime game against Sundown on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Roughnecks by a score of 37-35. Tahoka has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Seagraves' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss. They were dealt a 78-13 loss at the hands of Whitharral. While losing is never fun, Seagraves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1377th, while Whitharral is ranked 383rd).
Tahoka now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Seagraves, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-14.
Everything came up roses for Tahoka against Seagraves in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 40-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tahoka since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
