Basketball Recap: Crooked Oak Piles Up the Points Against Keys

With a playoff win on the line, Crooked Oak rose to the challenge on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 94-40 victory over the Keys Cougars. The Ruf-Nex have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Crooked Oak to victory were Jordan Martinez and Jamel Morris. Martinez shot 64% from beyond the arc on his way to 27 points and four steals, while Morris went 11-for-14 to rack up 26 points and eight boards. What's more, Martinez also posted a 64% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Kell Fields was another key player, going 5-for-6 en route to 11 points.

The win was the sixth in a row for Crooked Oak, bringing their record for this year to 22-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.8 points over those games. As for Keys, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-11.

Crooked Oak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-60 victory against Jones on the 1st. Keys does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
