The High Tech Mesa Thunder came tearing into Thursday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Liberty Charter 64-41. That result was just more of the same for these two, as High Tech Mesa also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Maximus Gutierrez and Duke Dengerink certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Gutierrez almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds, while Dengerink dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Dengerink hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for 16 straight games. Another player making a difference was Henry Appelquist, who scored no points along with seven assists and seven steals.
High Tech Mesa's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-17. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Liberty Charter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.
High Tech Mesa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Liberty Charter also has no future games currently scheduled.
