The Holly Wildcats stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 63-36 win over Primero on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-16.
Truman King was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with five steals and five blocks. King is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Eaton, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Primero's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brett Kendal, who scored 16 points. Xavier Garcia was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Holly's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Primero, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holly will square off against Swink at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Swink will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Holly is ranked 105th). As for Primero, they will head out on the road to challenge La Veta at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
