The Egyptian Pharaohs will be playing at home against the Shawnee Redskins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Egyptian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
Even though Zeigler-Royalton scored an imposing 61 points, Egyptian still came out on top. In a tight game that could have gone either way, Egyptian made off with a 62-61 victory over the Tornadoes. The win was just what Egyptian needed coming off of a 67-31 loss in their prior match.
Egyptian can attribute much of their success to Damarion Clark, who scored 25 points, and Brandon Plott, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 3 assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Clark has scored at least a third of Egyptian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendrick Williams, who scored two points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Shawnee came up short against the Knights on Tuesday and fell 44-31. Shawnee has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Egyptian's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-19. As for Shawnee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Egyptian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-52 loss to the Redskins when the teams last played back in December of 2023.
