Roman Catholic was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Archbishop Ryan. The Cahillite came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 29 last week.
La Salle College extended the longest winning streak in Philadelphia Catholic AAAA this week by beating Father Judge, 35-7. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Explorers.
La Salle College's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Explorers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chris Kane has thrown for 482 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Sean Coleman has 12 catches for 248 yards. Jared Hermann leads the league in rushing with 115 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between St. Joseph's Prep and La Salle College. The Hawks enters the contest ranked first in the state, while Drew Gordon's team ranks fifth.
Two of the top units in Philadelphia Catholic AAAA will face off this week when the Explorers take on St. Joseph's Prep. La Salle College's offense has recorded 57 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Gabe Infante's team has permitted only 41 on the year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Hawks take on the Explorers. St. Joseph's Prep has allowed 41 points this season, while La Salle College has given up 46. The Hawks allowed 10 points last week as they defeated Archbishop Wood.
The Explorers took down the Crusaders 35-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
