The Armwood Hawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 77-13 victory over Freedom at home. Armwood might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matches by 25 points or more this season.
Leading Armwood to victory were Amaya Richardson and Aniyah Moreno. Richardson dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Moreno scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. The matchup was Moreno's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Na'Chauncia Welch, who scored eight points along with seven steals and five assists.
When it comes to explaining why Freedom lost, one person who can't be blamed is Emma Schroeder. Despite the final result, she scored five points. Schroeder scored a full 38.5% of Freedom's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Armwood now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Freedom, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Armwood won't have much time to rest: their next match is against East Bay at 8:00 p.m. on December 13th. East Bay will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 441st, while Armwood is ranked 196th). Freedom won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Blake at 8:00 p.m. on December 13th. Blake comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
