RIO LINDA, Calif. - After two lead changes,
Vacaville (Calif.) took the lead for good when
Curtis Goins ran for a touchdown with 1:00 left in the second quarter and held on to beat
Rio Linda (Calif.) 35-21 on Saturday.
The Bulldogs were up 21-14 at the half after taking the lead on a Goins touchdown run in the second quarter.
Vacaville expanded its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. VHS's lone score in the quarter came on a
David Mewborn touchdown run.
Mewborn and Goins ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Knights. Mewborn scored two touchdowns on the ground and Goins added two as well.
Marcel Brown played well for Rio Linda. The sophomore ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 15 touchdowns on the season.
