In other batting news, Ty Newton was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Henry Rumble was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Will Miller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zachary Grayson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Scholars Guild Academy pushed their record up to 18-7 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
