The win was all the more spectacular given Savannah Country Day's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 314th in Georgia, while Cathedral Academy is ranked 81st in South Carolina).
Robert Spaulding iv continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 11 assists. The matchup was Spaulding iv's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Stone Wells, who scored 14 points.
Cathedral Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Bryce Ward, who scored 28 points, and Ajani Gresham who scored 22 points. The game was Ward's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Dominic Felix was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Even though they lost, Cathedral Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Savannah Country Day only racked up 23 assists.
Savannah Country Day's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Cathedral Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
