Greater Miami Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Westwood Christian Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Greater Miami Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success two weeks ago. They really took it to LaProgresiva Presbyterian for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-18 win at home. With Greater Miami Academy ahead 42-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Westwood Christian entered their tilt with the Dolphins with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Westwood Christian simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Dolphins 65-29 at home. Given Westwood Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Dolphins are ranked 661st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westwood Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than William Nadaskay, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Rosario, who scored 14 points along with five assists and three steals.
Greater Miami Academy pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.8 points. As for Westwood Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Greater Miami Academy suffered a grim 73-52 defeat to the Warriors in their previous meeting back in December of 2014. Can Greater Miami Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
