The Jefferson Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 17th straight loss. They fell 38-28 to Freedom. If Jefferson hoped to take revenge for the 42-39 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Freedom got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taniya Pedroso out in front who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Pedroso scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Breani May, who scored ten points.
Jefferson dropped their record down to 2-17 with that defeat, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.0 points per game. As for Freedom, their win ended a ten-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-17.
Jefferson will take on Brandon at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Freedom, they will take on Alonso at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
