The Hartsville Red Foxes's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Scott's Branch Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Tuesday, Hartsville came up short against Spring Valley and fell 47-34. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hartsville in their matchups with Spring Valley: they've now lost three in a row.
Hartsville's loss came about despite a quality game from Jazzy Frierson, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Frierson scored a full 50% of Hartsville's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Scott's Branch was the victim of a rough 45-25 loss at the hands of High Point Academy on Friday. While losing is never fun, Scott's Branch can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while High Point Academy is ranked 103rd).
Hartsville's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Scott's Branch, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
