Not much got past Destin Billings, who gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks to keep Morgan Township off the board. Billings also tossed no walks, which is notable because Washington Township is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 2-3-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hunter Lang, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Glenn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Jimtown.
Glenn saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Tropp, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Washington Township is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Glenn, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
