 Westlake saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Keith Haecker, who  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI and a  stolen base. Haecker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 Meanwhile, Briarcliff suffered a  rough 9-2 loss at the hands of Hendrick Hudson  on Saturday.
 Westlake dropped their record down to 2-6 with that  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road. As for Briarcliff, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Westlake beat Briarcliff 14-11  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023. Will Westlake repeat their success,  or does  Briarcliff have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
