Valparaiso had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They claimed a resounding 62-22 win over the Portage Indians. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 27 points or more this season.

Valparaiso's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lillian Barnes led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 steals. Barnes is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games she's played. Addison Shultz also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Valparaiso was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Portage only posted five assists.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Valparaiso, bringing their record for this year to 17-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32 points. As for Portage, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Valparaiso has already played their next contest, a 33-26 win against Chesterton on the 8th. Portage does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
