The Bruce Trojans struggled with assists on Thursday (the Ingomar Falcons had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Bruce had to suffer through a rough 65-20 loss at the hands of Ingomar. Bruce was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-15.
Laken Corbitt was Bruce's leading scorer, having posted 11 points.
A'toria Knox held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.
Ingomar was led to victory by Macie Phifer and Cadie Jo Byrd. Phifer scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Jo Byrd scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Jo Byrd is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Kylie Jumper was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Bruce's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Ingomar, they pushed their record up to 26-4 with that win, which was their 28th straight at home dating back to last season.
Bruce will take on Palmer at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bruce focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Thursday. As for Ingomar, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Calhoun City at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Calhoun City is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
