The Mukwonago Indians will challenge the Greendale Panthers at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Mukwonago is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Mukwonago came up short against Kettle Moraine and fell 7-3. The Indians have struggled against the Lasers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
Mukwonago saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amelia Motl, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Brenna Borkowski also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Greendale, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Brown Deer a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Panthers have won three matchups by more than 12 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Aubrey Cook was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Greendale got a massive performance out of Giselle Paszkiewicz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Macey St. Lawrence was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Greendale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .522. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Mukwonago's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Greendale, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mukwonago hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .388. However, it's not like Greendale struggles in that department as they've averaged .401. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mukwonago took their victory against Greendale in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-6 score. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
