Round Lake picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They blew past the Harvard Hornets 38-7. Considering the Panthers have won five matchups by more than 25 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Round Lake's defense and their four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Asia Foster and Aria Randolph, who racked up all four sacks between them. Emma Franks got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Round Lake has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.5 points on average over those games. As for Harvard, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Round Lake is set to challenge their familiar foe Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 11.1, the Eagles 13.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Harvard will take on rival St. Edward at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
