Orchard View is 0-4 against Whitehall since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Orchard View Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the Whitehall Vikings at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Orchard View has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Whitehall will arrive with 11 straight victories.
Last Thursday, Orchard View came up short against Fremont and fell 58-50.
Meanwhile, Whitehall can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They blew past Fremont, posting a 80-31 victory at home. Given Whitehall's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Fremont is ranked 368th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Camden Thompson, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Thompson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Trannon Aylor, who scored 11 points.
Orchard View bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Whitehall, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.
Orchard View suffered a grim 68-43 defeat to Whitehall in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Orchard View avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
