After two games on the road, South Davidson is heading back home. They will take on the Anson Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Davidson has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
South Davidson pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to North Stanly 65-61. While losing is never fun, South Davidson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while North Stanly is ranked 163rd).
South Davidson's loss came about despite a quality game from Tanner Delattre, who scored 28 points. Delattre scored a full 45.9% of South Davidson's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Walters, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Meanwhile, even though Chesterfield scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, Anson still came out on top. Anson took their contest against Chesterfield 63-56.
Their wins bumped South Davidson to 2-4 and North Stanly to 6-1.
