Savannah Country Day will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Liberty County is ranked 117th).
Savannah Country Day unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calvary Day.
Savannah Country Day might have lost, but man, Robert Spaulding iv was a machine: he scored 31 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Spaulding iv has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rudy Anderson, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Liberty County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 54-49 to Long County. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty County in their matchups with Long County: they've now lost four in a row.
Savannah Country Day's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Liberty County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.
Savannah Country Day came up short against Liberty County in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 54-49. Can Savannah Country Day avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
