Trinity Collegiate's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jae Thomas , who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. Landon Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Wilson Hall lost, one person who can't be blamed is Daniel Burton. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. Burton is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ford Wilder, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Wilson Hall were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Collegiate only posted ten assists.
Trinity Collegiate now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Wilson Hall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-4.
Trinity Collegiate won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Northwood Academy at 3:00 p.m. on January 6th. Northwood Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Trinity Collegiate is ranked 91st). Wilson Hall won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Andrew Jackson at 2:30 p.m. on January 6th. Andrew Jackson is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
