The Northview Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Southview Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Neither Northview nor the Cougars posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.
After a 56-49 finish the last time they played, Northview and the Trojans decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. Northview fell 28-16 to the Trojans on Thursday. Northview has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Meanwhile, Southview's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 15th straight loss. They took a 43-24 bruising from Napoleon. While losing is never fun, Southview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 666th, while the Wildcats are ranked 330th).
Northview's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Southview, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-18.
Everything came up roses for Northview against the Cougars in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 as the squad secured a 71-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northview since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
