Football Recap: Clayton Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Clayton had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out the Frederic Vikings 27-25. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won five in a row.

Owen Anderson was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 109 yards and three scores, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Dayne Mumm was another key player, rushing for 78 yards and one touchdown.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clayton will face off against McDonell Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Frederic, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Northwood/Solon Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
