Moses Brown is 7-2 against Smithfield since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Quakers will head out on the road to square off against the Sentinels at 11:00 a.m. Moses Brown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Moses Brown not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 9, 2024 (when they won 11-3). Everything went their way against Cumberland as they made off with a 9-1 victory. The game was the first time the Quakers have beaten the Clippers on their field since May 24, 2019.

Elodie Cannon was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmy Monchik, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Moses Brown hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Smithfield faced Westerly in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Sentinels blew past the Bulldogs 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Sentinels, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.
Crystal Cacador made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lily Riggin, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Giannah Tutt also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Smithfield pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Moses Brown, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.
Both Moses Brown and Smithfield just can't seem to miss. The Quakers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. However, it's not like Smithfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Moses Brown couldn't quite get it done against Smithfield in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-5. Can the Quakers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
